
About the Faculty
Dr. Ansuman Chattopadhyay joined the department in the year 2005. He has obtained his masters degree from University of Calcutta (1991) and his doctoral degree from North Eastern Hill University (1997). Before joining the department he worked as a senior grade lecturer at the North Eastern Hill University (2002-2005). His research area of interest includes toxicology of heavy metals and nanoparticles (organ and genotoxicity; molecular mechanisms); Nrf2-Keap1 signaling pathway, changes in metal profiling; epigenetic regulation of DNA repair genes; Screening of anticancer properties of fungal metabolites and nanoparticles. Investigation of detailed molecular mechanism responsible for cell death.
